Six groups were given funding through the Event Development Fund and another 11 under the Major Event Sponsorship Program.
Cricket NSW Pathways Championship manager Bruce Whitehouse said the money received from council for the Under 13/14 State Cricket Challenge and the Under 13/14/15 NSW Youth Cricket Championships would go back into the competition.
Mr Whitehouse said the challenge had been held in the LGA for the last five years, with games split between Dubbo and Wellington. It drew about 700 people to the area, he said, providing a great boost to the economy.
