The five-day stretch of very hot weather will commence on Wednesday, with Saturday set to be the hottest day and the mercury predicted to soar into the mid 40s for most locations.
A total fire ban is in place across NSW from midnight on Tuesday until midnight on Saturday as firefighters battle to contain more than 100 fires burning across the state.
The coolest of the predicted hot days in the Central West will be Wednesday, but even still temperatures will soar to at least the mid 30s.
From there it's only going to get hotter.

Saturday will be the hottest day, and if predictions are right every Central West town will break December heat records.
The mercury is expected to soar to 45 degrees in Dubbo, Forbes and Wellington, while it will be 44 in Cowra, Grenfell, Parkes and Young.
A top of 43 is predicted for Mudgee, 42 in Oberon, 41 in Bathurst and 39 in Lithgow and Orange.
