PC Splashe of the Bourke Police Station was in the thick of the action as the workplace was zhooshed up for the festive season.
Decorations proved to be a popular new toy for the cat who was adopted by the town's police officers in 2017.
PC Splashe and Santa Claus also met to compare notes on naughty or nice lists.
Senior Constable Belinda Hurst said the top four-legged cop at the station had been busy.
"He loved 'helping' me put up the Christmas decorations on his cat tree, although they lasted about 30 seconds before he pulled them down and continued to paw them around on the floor," she said.
"The grapevine at the station is still his favourite place to play and climb, we are in the process of putting Christmas lights on it, which he is not impressed about."
The arrival of summer has seen the black cat renowned for his mousing abilities to pull rank by staying indoors.
"Lately Splashe has been catching plenty of mice and proudly presenting them to officers on duty," Senior Constable Hurst said.
"The weather has been too hot for him to patrol the roof of the station so he has been escaping the heat by snoozing on a vacant office chair."
PC Splashe was a young and hungry cat when he turned up at the Bourke Police Station in 2017 and his fortunes changed.
Officers chipped in to pay for his food, vet bills, bed and toys.
With help from the community, the 'Bourke Police Station Cat' was named Splashe, a name inspired by local product Splashe Cola.
He continues to welcome visitors to the station and has a firm following on social media.
