South Limes batted first and struggled to score consistently early, with only Sam McGrath (20), Noel McGrath (21), Farwarn Baig (21) and Fred Walford (23) hitting for more than twenty.
Colin Smith led the way for Newtown, putting up 41 runs in the opening batting spot and boosting his side to an unsuccessful, but spirited chase.

Elsewhere in the Kelly Cup, RSL Colts United defeated Souths Lemons thanks to the opening batting efforts of Samuel Bass (33) and Luke Holcombe (24) boosting them to 133 while the Lemons came within three runs but were stopped short as Holcombe and Jack Pettit took two wickets each and Nicholas Crawford took another four.
CYMS Green took a comfortable win over Macquarie, with Samuel Thompson (37) starting the innings off strong for CYMS, whose total was helped along by Logan Watmore (41), while Cody Green went 5/41 during Macquarie's losing effort.
Newtown Demons took an inter-club win over Newtown Black, despite Black's Craig Pettit putting up a score of 66.
The Demons were able to chase down Black's total, with Daniel Flannery (54) and his half century leading the way in the win.
Rugby got the better of CYMS White, finishing on 173 to 163 with Trevor O'Mally (43) and Sam Ward (49) both falling just short of making half centuries for Rugby and CYMS respectively.
In the Pinnington Cup, South Dubbo narrowly defeated the RSL Colts despite a heroic, century scoring effort from the Wes Giddings (125) who lifted the Colts to a 213 total during their chase, but fell short by four runs.
Giddings was dismissed by John Colwell (3/22), who made 70 of his own for South Dubbo during their innings in what was a fine all-round display.
At Lady Cutler 2, Darcy Chewings 50 during Rugby's chase to lift them over a spirited Newtown side.
Alex Walker took 3/20 for Rugby while Malachi Dutschke collected 2/14 for Newtown.
Rugby now sit ten points clear of the rest of the competition ladder on 48 points after winning their last two games, followed by Souths, then CYMS.
CYMS Cougars were successful in their thrilling chase after Macquarie posted a competitive 184 run total.
The Cougars' opening batsman Heath Larance breezed past a half century to boost his side, hitting 81 runs before being bowled by Chad O'Brien.
Harry McPherson added another 39 runs in the middle of the batting order, before being caught out by Jack Fuller.
Larance was also the hero with the ball, taking 3/25 in the tight win, while Damian Smith took two wickets and Samuel Knaggs collected another wicket for CYMS.
