The Racing NSW Rising Star Series pits the state's apprentice jockeys against each other, with points earned for each race.
Chinese jockey Yong sits at the top of the ladder after five rounds, with one win and a number of consistent performances recorded up to this point.
The next race is at Wellington, with the jockeys to do battle in the Over The Line Racing Benchmark 58 Handicap - Heat of the Rising Star (1400m).
Yong may be based Hawkesbury under trainer Brad Widdup, but the Wellington track is a special one for the jockey.
It was there he scored his first win on Australian soil when he saluted with Azzie's Ready on Wellington Boot day earlier in the year.

He said at the time it would go on to be one of his greatest memories and winning the Rising Star Series would also be something to treasure.
Yong will look to that experience on Monday and he may need to, as he faces a challenge in the event.
He will ride Song One for Bryan Dixon at Wellington, the seven-year-old only recently having arrived at the Gilgandra stables.
Previously trained by Rodney Little in the remote central Queensland location of Muttaburra, Song One heads into Monday having scored six wins from 50 career starts.
Song One has raced once for Dixon, finishing fourth in a benchmark 60 event at Goondiwindi.
Samantha Clenton, second in this season's Rising Star Series, isn't down to ride at Wellington on Monday but third-placed Yvette Lewis is.
Lewis will ride a horse from Dixon's stables as well.
Outta Space will go from barrier one with Lewis onboard, the six-year-old coming off a third-placed finish at Cessnock last time out.
Dixon's third hope in the race, The Danger, didn't have a jockey booked as of Sunday morning.
Dubbo trainers Connie Greig, Dar Lunn, and Karen Lunn all have hopes in the race.
Wendy Peel will ride Squared for Greig, the gelding looking to break through after running fourth three times in four starts.
Dar and Karen Lunn will saddle up Snipselva and El Rey Dorado respectively.
Racing starts at 1.25pm at Wellington on Monday with the Rising Star heat the fifth on the card.
