From impersonators, market stalls in the main street and a singing contest, the inaugural event celebrating all things Dolly is expected to not only boost community morale during dry times, but is expected to rejuvenate the local economy.
And chairperson of the festival committee, Susie Rae said people should start ordering their wigs and glitzy outfits for the festival set for April 17 and 18.
"People need to start finding their wigs, because they're really hard to find, believe it or not long blonde Dolly Parton wigs are really hard to find," she said.
The two-day family event has a massive line-up and will celebrate all things Dolly.
The main street will be closed hosting a range of market and food stalls, drag queen lawn bowls will take over Trangie and drag queen bingo will be hosted in both Narromine and Tomingley.
There will be plenty of live entertainment including performances by the Outlaws of Country and Dolly impersonations by 24-year-old Brooke McMullen will celebrate the the most honoured female country performer of all time.
Ms Rae said there would also be a Dolly Parton singing competition with plenty of prize money up for grabs.
"It's going to be great fun," she said.
"Entrants can partner up and do 'Islands in the Stream' if they can find themselves a Kenny.
"People will be judged during the day and the finalists will go through to the evening event."
Ms Rae said she hoped the festival would bring a much needed boost to the drought-affected shire.
"As Dolly once said: 'storms make trees take deeper roots'," she said.
"Economically it's going to do wonders for the shire, it really is.
"A lot of the accommodation is already booked out, which is great.
"It's great for a couple of days of fun, to help escape from things."
However the chairperson said it all couldn't be done without the support of the Narromine Shire Council.
"Council has been so, so supportive and without their support, we really wouldn't have had the stamina in the current drought conditions," Ms Rae said.
While it's unconfirmed if Ms Parton would be attending the festival, Ms Rae hopes her goddaughter Miley Cyrus could swing in on her wrecking ball.
Ms Rae is encouraging people to dress as Dolly, or Kenny, and come along for a weekend away with a group of friends or the the kids, to help shake off the drought blues.
Paid camping and 'glamping' will also be available at the Narromine Showgrounds, which Ms Rae said would be advertised on the Dolly Festival website shortly.
Tickets to the festival are $60 and can be purchased online through 123tix.
