Despite a sizable contribution from Colts skipper Marty Jeffrey, who added on 78 runs without being dismissed, the Colts were undone by a more consistent Newtown side that denied the Colts the groupings of early wickets that have been the Tigers' undoing so far this season.

Kale Bock (22) and Mitchell Russo (15) opened the batting for Newtown and were able to lay a shaky platform for what was to come, with Shane Smith (30) and Trent Smith (43) adding to the run total and Dan French (23) rounding out the batting with a contribution that put Newtown on 176/6.
Despite an enthusiastic start from the Colts, with Charlie Kempston (26) and Rupert Backus (29) both chipping in, another Mitch Russo run-out ended the Colt's efforts after Anthony Atlee sent packing at 168/8.
