Dubbo Bridge club players turned up on the day, played bridge and donated the entrance fee to compete to the worthy cause.
Can Assist Dubbo branch secretary Fitz McKay said all money raised goes towards helping those with cancer in Dubbo.
"Any donations we receive are greatly received we need approx $60,000 per year to help our Dubbo and regional clients," she said.
"The money goes to help people with medical treatment, travel accommodation, telephone, rates all sorts of things that will help them with day to day expenses. The money goes to the supplier never directly to the client."
Mrs McKay said the bridge day was a novel way of raising funds.
"We have a few other things we do, and we do appreciate the bridge club for their efforts," she said. "The money we raise on the day will help local cancer patients in one form or another."
