Nicholas Kevin Stephens, 37, was also ordered to undertake 120 hours of community service and placed on a community corrections order for 12 months.
According to an agreed facts statement presented in court, Stephens' speed brought him to the attention of police on North Street on August 24.
A breath test returned a reading of 0.095.
Police said Stephens had been caught drink driving three times before - including on August 17. Officers also said Stephens' most recent drink driving offence was "highly aggravated by the fact" he had four children in the car.
Stephens pleaded guilty to mid-range drink driving and was convicted by Magistrate Theresa Hamilton, who noted a sentencing assessment report concluded there was a low to medium risk Stephens would reoffend.
