The $2.8 billion Regional Rail Fleet Project includes the construction of the new rail fleet - which is comprised of 10 regional intercity trains, nine short regional trains and 10 long regional trains - as well as the establishment of a rail maintenance facility in Dubbo.
The fleet will replace the current XPT, XPLORER and Endeavour trains.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Dubbo MP Dugald Saunders said the fleet would start rolling out from 2023.
"There are a number of great opportunities for local businesses to get involved in the new facility including construction and supply contracts, as well as supplying components for the new trains," he said.
"Expressions of Interest are now open for a number of packages, including fit out and electrical work, signalling, landscaping and more."
There will be 200 jobs during construction and 50 permanent jobs once the facility opens.
