Tales from Bill's travels have enthralled his friends, neighbours and family for many years, inspiring Bill to write his first book on his experiences traveling through Bhutan and India.
Join Bill to hear tales of travel to faraway places and of his experience with self-publishing. A great event for anyone interested in travel, writing and an interest in other cultures and history.
Dubbo Library will be launching Bill's self- published book Bhutan to India on Thursday 12th December at 5.30pm. To book, please contact Dubbo Library 02 6801 4510.
Foods for fines!
Overdue fines will be wiped with no questions asked when overdue items are returned to any branch of Macquarie Regional Library from Monday, November 18 to Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Simply donate an item of non-perishable food and the library will clear any overdue fines on your returned items.
No questions asked. This year you can also donate toiletries and other essentials including new socks and underwear.
This is a fantastic opportunity to return that book, magazine, audiobook, CD or DVD that is still sitting at home - even if it has been years!
All items received will be donated to local charity organisations throughout the region.
The month-long amnesty will help people come back to the library to borrow resources, while also assisting people in need. Donations will also be accepted from people who would simply like to give to a good cause.
Who Writes Like..........?
In recent years, this week's author has had great success with her writing. Although she has only written three novels, Jane Harper is fast becoming one of Australia's favourite writers.
Winning over readers with The Dry, Force of Nature and The Lost Man, it will be interesting to see what she writes next! If you enjoy her gritty, richly detailed writing or enjoy rural police themes, why not try these authors:
- C J Box
- Tana French
- Garry Disher
- Elizabeth George
- Robert Schofield
- Dervla Mc Tiernan
