Originally created in an effort to cover funeral costs for Nate's family, Melinda and Katy say they wanted to set up a central place where people could offer their support.
"As two close friends of Nate's parents, we are heartbroken. We wanted to set up a base for people to be able to offer their support to Nate's family, as there were so many people reaching out," they said.
"Nate's family are overwhelmed with the response from everyone, not only in regards to the GoFundMe page but also the community love and support,"
