According to Mr Pavan the joy of helping people in need in the small ways they can through St Vincent de Paul is what motivates him to continue his work there even after all of these years.
Mr Pavan works at the Darling Street office in Dubbo helping and helps community members in a large number of ways including providing them with vouchers for food and petrol.
Fellow member Dennis Crimmins, who has been with St Vincent De Paul for 44 years, said it has been a wonderful journey working alongside Mr Pavan.
"I met Mark in 1979, so we have a lot of great memories," Mr Crimmins said.
"He's a fantastic person and incredibly generous. He's always been willing to lend a hand no matter what."
Another member who has worked alongside Mr Pavan for an extensive number of years is Carole O'Connor.
"Mark has always been a wonderful person to work with," Ms O'Connor said.
"He's a lovely host outside of work, and because of that attribute he makes a lovely member for the people that come in here looking for help."
Mr Pavan said he enjoys working with St Vincent de Paul and will continue to do so in the future.
