As parts of the north coast continue to battle one of the worst fire disasters NSW has endured, authorities are warning the conditions are likely to become worse before they get better.
After a relatively cool weekend across the Central West, Tuesday will be a dangerous day with temperatures expected to skyrocket and winds forecast to reach near 40 kilomtres per hour, meaning the fire conditions across the region will intensify too.
A top of 36 degrees Celsius is predicted for Dubbo, while other parts of the region are forecast to bake - Bourke will top 38 and Brewarrina will peak at 39.
As of Sunday, the Central Ranges fire area - which includes Mudgee, Orange and Bathurst - has been issued a fire danger rating of high.
The NSW RFS says based on the current forecast Tuesday's fire conditions will be severe to extreme, a warning likely to stretch from the Queensland border to the south coast, and across parts of the Central West.
The extensive fire activity in northern NSW won't be contained in time and the forecast for more dry, hot and windy weather early next week will make the conditions even worse, the NSW RFS says.
The NSW RFS adds, fires will have the potential to spread quickly and will threaten homes and lives.
Authorities are urging residents to stay up to date on bush fires in your area and take responsibility for your own safety.
There were three fires in the Central West on Sunday, with a bush fire at Mumbil and a grass fire on the Obley Road, just south of Dubbo, both under control.
While a bush fire at Gospers Mountain near Lithgow was being battled by the RFS on Sunday.
