Ben's switch from Macquarie to CYMS after round one sees the brothers now on opposite sides and their two teams meet in the biggest match-up of the RSL-Whitney Cup's third round.
"I don't think we've played against each other," Lachlan said ahead of the season's first one-day fixture.
"When he moved back to Dubbo I was still in Sydney and then when I moved back I was at CYMS as well.
"It's good to play against the great players though and hopefully we can knock him over early or see off his overs."
The pair of all-rounders and good mates live together as well, but things have been kept civil in the lead-up to Saturday's game at No. 3 Oval.

It shapes as a key one for both sides as CYMS is looking for a third consecutive win and to extend its lead at the top of the ladder while the Blues are eager to bounce back from a loss to Newtown last round.
"We live together and we're highly competitive but we respect each other," Ben said.
"There might be a few niggles out on the field but it will be all good fun but we'll have a beer and a joke after the game."
While the pair will no doubt have some fun during the match, they shape as key figures for their respective sides.
Both have been battling niggles which has limited their bowling this season but the Strachans have already made their mark with the bat this season.
Lachlan, now in his second full season since returning to the club from Sydney, made a half century in CYMS' round one win over South Dubbo before belting 94 for the Cougars in a McDonald's Megahit victory over Newtown.
Ben also made a half century in the round one win while he was was the only Macquarie batsmen to provide any kind of support for centurion Dan Medway in last weekend's loss, making 37.
Knocking over the in-form Medway and the rest of the Blues lineup will be CYMS' biggest challenge.
Bailey Edmunds has claimed a five-wicket haul in each of the first two rounds but after a minor medical procedure he is out for a number of weeks.
The Cougars do welcome back James 'Busta' Nelson for his first game of the season, though.
"We've had a good start but it's a lot tougher competition this weekend," Lachlan said.
"The bowlers need to step up and we need to go in with the right attitude but we're a young side going in with confidence, and that's good.
"'Buzz' [Edmunds] has bowled a lot of overs and taken a lot of wickets but it's a good opportunity for the other boys to step up and show what they can do."
The attitude side of things is something the younger Strachan has put a real emphasis on since his return to the club.
"It's not really a leadership role, more just a bit of mentoring and keeping that good energy," he said.
"We're a young side and when you're young and things aren't going your way your head can drop. It's about morale and that's what I like to do, keep everyone on the right path to succeed and do CYMS proud."
In other games this weekend, Newtown will take on Rugby without captain Mat Skinner at No. 1 Oval while RSL-Colts will take on the winless South Dubbo at No. 2.
All matches start at 1pm.
