Purchased for $200,000 at the Gold Coast yearling sales, Deviate's first two starts for Gulgong trainer Brett Thompson came at Randwick last year, with a Group 3 debut followed by a $125,000 feature sprint.
Earlier this year the filly ran third in the famed $150,000 Wellington Boot and Friday's meeting at Orange will see her have a fourth start as a three-year-old.
She'll contest the last event of the day, the Kennard's Hire Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000m), having run second last time out in a class two event at Scone.
Promising apprentice Kate Cowan, fresh from riding winners at Dubbo's Derby Day and Melbourne Cup meetings, has the ride for Thompson.
Cowan, apprentice to Dubbo trainer Kody Nestor, has received plenty of praise in recent times and has three rides at Orange on Friday.

Cowan has another ride for Thompson earlier in the meeting, piloting Moon Over Meenah in the Oriana Orange Class 1 Handicap (1280m).
Her other ride is on the Connie Greig-trained Gravitate in the Inland Digital Class 3 Handicap (1400m).
Friday marks the six-year-old gelding's fourth start for the Dubbo trainer, having previously worked under the Warwick Farm-based Jason Coyle.

Friday's eight-race meeting starts at 1.35pm at Orange.
