Damian Smith, Essential Energy's north western operations manager, said a proactive inspection identified seven power poles and two cross-arms that needed to be replaced.
Power will be out from 8.30am and 1.30pm on November 24 while maintenance work is carried out.
Because the outage will affect all homes and businesses in the Bourke area, Essential Energy scheduled the work to take place on a Sunday to reduce inconvenience as much as possible.
"Significant planning has been undertaken to reduce the number of planned power outages required to complete the work to one, and to minimise its duration, which includes bringing in additional crews and equipment Bourke, Cobar and Warren to assist our Nyngan teams," Mr Smith said in a statement to Australian Community Media.
