The group represent Headspace at events and accompany Headspace staff to schools to engage with youth.
They also provide a voice for young people through interaction with media platforms and politicians.
Headspace Dubbo Community Engagement Coordinator Amy Mines said joining the Youth Reference Group is a unique chance for young people to shape headspace messages and services, and meet like-minded people.
"Being a part of the Youth Reference Group is a chance for young people to be directly involved in organising headspace events, providing feedback on current services and groups, brainstorming new group ideas, creating new projects and so much more," Ms Mines said.
Current Youth Reference Group member, Jade says being part of the Youth Reference Group has afforded her many opportunities including early-acceptance into university, meeting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, receiving in-school and council presented awards, and amazing employment prospects.
Youth participation is critical to the delivery of quality services for young people, and headspace Dubbo aims to provide young people with meaningful opportunities to participate and collaborate with the centre directly.
If you would make a great youth advocate contact Headspace Dubbo on (02) 5852 1900, or drop into the centre at 23 Church Street, Dubbo.
