Community members who donated funds as part of the Southern Cross Austereo initiative have been singled out for praise by the Western NSW Local Health District.
"The Dubbo Health Service has been overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals, families and businesses in Dubbo and the wider surrounds, this is even more extraordinary given that our community is experiencing one of the worst droughts in history," a spokeswoman said.
More than $36,000 was raised.
