Patrons decked out in their finest flocked to the Dubbo Turf Club for a seven-race program on Saturday.
While still waiting for a count, turf club general manager Vincent Gordon estimated the size of the crowd was similar to previous years of up to 3500 patrons.
Mr Gordon said it had been a successful day.
"It was a good crowd, plenty of room, the marquees were very well attended, and I think usually we get 3000, 3500, and I think we would have had that," he said.

"Marquees very well attended, well-behaved and the general public and the betting ring were well attended.
"It looked like a really good afternoon from where I sat."
Frocks and suits captured plenty of attention at the track. Heat four of the Gift Closet's Fashions on the Field was hotly contested.
"The fashions were excellent," Mr Gordon said.
"It was very well attended by the men this year, I think the men's fashions were up on last year, and the ladies were similar to what it was previously."
Fashionistas and punters are set to return to Dubbo Turf Club on Tuesday for the Daily Liberal Melbourne Cup Race Day.
"This little drop of rain we're having at the moment will wash the dust off things and freshen everything up for Tuesday," Mr Gordon said.
