Qantas is hoping to encourage Sydneysiders to visit drought-affected areas of NSW, by offering discounted fares on flights to regional centres, including Moree, Tamworth and Armidale.

The airline giant has teamed up with Destination NSW to launch the initiative on Wednesday, October 30.
Sale fares as low as $119 one-way will be available from Sydney to Moree, Tamworth, Armidale, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and Albury for travel between December 2019 and mid-2020.
QantasLink CEO John Gissing said the initiative aims to provide a much-needed tourism boost to communities suffering as a result of the drought.
"We know much of western NSW has been doing it tough through the drought," he said.
"These sale fares are a great opportunity for Sydney residents to explore their home state and give a much-needed boost to regional communities.
"Regional NSW is a spectacular place to visit with so much to see and do, and we encourage Sydneysiders to head west and experience it for themselves.
"It's also a great opportunity for residents of western NSW to visit Sydney to have a well-earned break in the city."
Qantas and Destination NSW have a Memorandum of Understanding and seek opportunities to benefit Sydney and regional NSW economies through joint marketing initiatives such as this sale.
"Tourism is the lifeblood of many regional NSW centres, and that's why this kind of promotion and leadership from Qantas and Destination NSW - the government's tourism and major events agency - is so important," NSW Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said.
"Regional NSW accounts for more than half of the state's tourism jobs and generates $19.1 billion in tourism related expenditure, which continues to grow.
"These regions have so much to offer visitors, from unforgettable landscapes and one-of-a-kind events and festivals to distinctive food and wine experiences.
"And of course visitors will love the authentic charm and warm welcome and from local community members who have the best tips for travellers to the region."
Mr Ayres said there's no better time for Sydneysiders to take a break in the bush and enjoy the unique beauty of our state's regional gems.
"There's no doubt that this persistent drought is tough for families, businesses and communities in regional NSW, so every bit helps when it comes to spending and supporting local," he said.
The sale fares are available to book now until November 6, 2019 via qantas.com or through local travel agents.
