The Dubbo Regional Organics Processing Plant is holding a community open day on Saturday, November 9.
It will provide residents with the opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about what it does.
The $7 million DROPP facility, which is located at the Whylandra Waste and Recycling Centre, processes the food and garden organics waste from Dubbo, Mid-Western and Narromine councils.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
It was opened in late 2018 and processes 20,000 tonnes annually, turning the waste collected from the community's green bins into rich, organic compost.
This plant is the third organics processing facility operated by JR Richards and Sons in NSW. It was jointly funded by Dubbo Regional Council, the NSW Environment Protection Authority and JR Richards and Sons.
Tours of the DROPP will start at 9am and go for about 30 to 45 minutes. The tours are free to attend and bookings can be made at www.trybooking.com/BGJOM.
