A MAN has been charged after firearms were allegedly stolen at a cattle station earlier this year.

On Saturday, March 23, a break-in at a cattle station was reported to police after nine firearms were allegedly stolen along with air compressors, ammunition, cash, tools, and other items.
Officers from Central North Police District established a crime scene and commenced investigations under Strike Force Akoonah.
On Monday, September 23, strike force investigators executed a search warrant at a home address in Nyngan. Police will allege they seized and recovered a firearm and vehicle.
On Monday, October 28, strike force investigators arrested a 23-year-old man at Nyngan Local Court.
He was charged with enter private land to hunt animal without owner consent, enter enclosed lands interfere conduct of business, and enter private land to hunt animal without owner consent.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Nyngan Local Court on Monday, February 24, 2020.
Central North Police District Commander, Superintendent Andrew Hurst said the outcome was a result of collaboration between Detectives attached to the Central North Police District and the Rural Crime Prevention Team.
"The charge of this 23-year-old man is the result of an outstanding investigation by Detectives attached to the Central North Police District, and Rural Crime Prevention Team Officers attached to Bourke," he said.
"Police are committed to working with the rural community to prevent criminals stealing firearms.
