About 4am emergency services crews rushed to a home on Narran Street after they received reports of a house fire.
The home was engulfed in flames when crews arrived and despite the best efforts of all those involved, the house was completely destroyed.
Nobody was injured.
After an investigation was launched, police spoke to 13-year-old girl about the incident last Thursday.
The girl was charged with setting fire to the property of another person, causing less than $2000 worth of damage to property and destroying property worth more than $5000 in company.
Police granted the girl conditional bail. She is due to appear in the Children's Court on December 17.
Because of the girl's age, her court case cannot legally be reported on.
