Westside failed to finish a tumultuous 2019 season after successive forfeits late in the campaign and the Group 11 board has laid down a stringent set of criteria the Rabbitohs must adhere to if they are to return to the field in 2020.
The main requirements are a competitive player list and proof of financial stability to be provided at the November 10 Group 11 annual general meeting.
That may seem like a big ask but the work hasn't stopped off the field since the disappointment of the forfeits.
"We've been going hammer and tongs," Westside secretary Brooke Mallison said.
"We held our AGM early and the new committee has been working hard to ensure everything Group 11 has requested is done.
"It wasn't a long rest for us. The AGM then went straight into a general meeting and the executive met again the next week."
Wayne Mallison is now president, with Craig Britt the vice president and Larissa Young is treasurer.
Jason Hill is the club captain while a number of new positions have been created at the club in order to further boost things.

Among those are a sponsorship and grant officer who has been at work securing funds while Wayne Mallison and returning first grade coach Paul Hausia are the club coaching conveners and player recruitment officers.
But, as has been the case with Westside for more than a year now, the progress made off the field will be for nought if new players don't sign on.
"If people want Westside back we need players on board and signed up," Mallison said.
"If the community wants to see the club survive they need to help.
"We can't get any more behind this team and there's not much more that can be done behind the scenes."
The club has already been chasing players and Merritt brothers Josh and Jai, who starred for Nyngan during 2019, were rumoured to be two marquee recruits ahead of 2020 but Mallison confirmed no deal is in place and it is unlikely the pair will be in red and green next year.
That comes as a real blow for the club but the committee is hopeful of a strong turnout at this weekend's player information and family day.
The newly-announced coaches will be in attendance, with Hausia having agreed to take on the first grade role again for 2020.
Peter Gibbs will coach reserve grade while Lenny Bateup has been named juniors coach.
Westside failed to form a juniors side for the 2019 season but Mallison said the club has been delighted by the interest from younger players head of a potential return to the field in 2020.
The league tag coaching position is yet to be filled and applications are still being taken.
Westside will come together at the information and family day, which is held on Saturday from 11am-1pm at the Katrina Gibbs Oval next to the netball courts.
