Newing's Queen of Manhattan secured a victory in the early 1300m Maiden Plate, coming in as the rightful favourite with a barrier close to the inside and finishing ahead of Wanda Ing's Supreme Boss and Clint Lundholm's Sticks 'n' Stones.
The latter victory came in the 1600m Maiden Plate, with Ryan tallying up a win for Scone based trainer Rodney Northam and his three year old gelding, Papa John.
Papa John entered the contest as the favourite after a lengthy eighteen week spell following strong trial performances in Scone and a seventh place finish in Dubbo.
The gelding came around the outside on the final turn and jostled for the lead with Janelle Galea's Secret Embrace and Wayne Collison's Sue's Girlfriend before a final burst of speed sent him clear of the rest of the pack and bolting across the finish line.
