A thief who broke into a Dubbo woman's home while she was sleeping will be eligible for parole in about five months.
Terrence Thomas Hines was sentenced for his crimes in the Dubbo District Court last week.
For breaking into a woman's Wollomombi Avenue home on September 20 last year, Judge Gordon Lerve sentenced the 30-year-old man to 27 months in jail.
An 18-month non-parole period was imposed, which could see Hines out from behind bars and back on the streets of Dubbo on March 24 next year.
The sentence Judge Lerve handed down was backdated to September 25 last year, which was when Hines was first taken into custody after Orana Mid-Western Police District officers arrested him on the banks of the Macquarie River in Dubbo.
In court Hines pleaded guilty to breaking into the woman's home.
He also confessed to breaking into two cars on the same night he broke into the home.
Hines admitted he stole two wallets from the motor vehicles in the early hours of the morning.
