The Orana Outlaws' Jason Ryan admits it's been another difficult year in the hunt for players with the talent and drive to propel the representative team to another SCG appearance, with the list of players available to play in the Plan B Regional Bash still slim.

"This is the second year in a row it's been an effort to find players that are keen, obviously, because it's so early in the season and we have to do a bit of travelling to get there," Ryan said.
"It's made it hard to find blokes that are available, but we've managed to scrape together a pretty decent team."

Opportunities in Sydney and further afield have further drained the local playing pool, with the squad that will travel to Orange to face the Central West on Saturday unrecognisable compared to the line-up of year's past.
"One hundred percent that's had an impact, if you look at the side three or four years ago, when we made the finals, we've only kept one or two players from that side who are still around and playing, so it definitely shows you the high turnover," Ryan said.
"It's good in a way because a lot of those blokes have gone on to play in Sydney, but it makes it hard to keep a solid team on the paddock for a couple of years in a row."
"It's always been hard to replace those high quality players, but I think that's just how we roll around here."
While his side's shallow level of experience might not be ideal for the task at hand, Ryan says the new line-up will mean a lot of new opportunity for the squad's youngest and brightest players.
"It's a big role for everyone in this side, everyone that gets a crack at this level, it's a big opportunity for them," Ryan said.
"We've got three or four experienced players in the squad, so everyone's relatively new, so that's a big chance for some of these guys to stand up and put some big scores on the board."
"There's no real one leader I'm looking at, but it's certainly a good opportunity for the younger lads to stand up and do well."
In the first three years of the Regional Bash the Outlaws were able to make it as far as the finals, and a highly coveted match at the SCG, something that Ryan sees as the perfect motivation for a squad of untested potential.
"Honestly, I don't know how we've struggled to find blokes to play, because the reward at the end is probably the biggest in country cricket."
"Hopefully these young fellows we've picked this year look at that, because it's a massive highlight, when you look back and you've played there, it's a huge moment, hopefully they recognise that and want to get there."
Some of the names joining the roster this year are familiar to the local competition, like young gun Charlie Kempston, who Ryan favours as an opening batsman.
The team will also be supplemented by talent from Parkes, with Smith Brothers Miles and Blake, along with Zac Bayliss, who impressed on-field in the first round of the Western Premier League recently.
"We've also got a young bloke from Gulgong joining us, Gaurav Sharma, he played in the Premier League last week for the Midwest and he bowled really well."
While they might not share the experience of veteran players like Ryan and Mat Skinner, the Outlaws' captain doesn't see reason for concern in the lead-up to their first game.
"They won't be daunted by the occasion, they haven't played at this Twenty 20 level, but it's probably just a tick under."
"The intensity's always high and it's going to be a matter of whether they can go from playing in Dubbo to that next step up."
The Outlaws take on the Central West Wranglers at Wade Park in Orange from 9.30am, Saturday October 19.
