Fires lit at Nyngan, Cobar and Bourke during the past few weeks are among those being investigated.
Central North Police District Crime Manager Detective Inspector Paul Quigg said multiple suspicious fires have been reported which is of particular concern due to the current dry conditions.
The fire was extinguished by the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Then on Monday, October 7 at 1.25pm, officers responded to reports of a small grass fire on the levy bank on Yanbacoona Street at Bourke.
Police said a group of children on motorbikes were seen in the area shortly before the fire was reported.
No property was destroyed during these fires.
"Now is a timely reminder for the community to be vigilant and to report anyone acting suspiciously, whether it's in parkland, scrub or bushland, and to immediately notify triple-0 or the local police station so we can apprehend these people," Det Insp Quigg said.
