The man also entered guilty pleas to three counts of indecently assaulting a person aged under 16, two counts of grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity and breaching an apprehended violence order (AVO) when he appeared in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
According to a statement of agreed facts presented in court the man is nine years older than girl, who was aged between 14 and 16 when the offending took place.
The pair began talking on social media and developed a relationship that spanned part of 2017 and 2018.
They had sexual relations on multiple occasions, including in the back of a car near the end of Sheraton Road and in his bedroom. According to the statement of agreed facts, the pair also met in parkland in the Southlakes area, where he squeezed her buttocks on the outside of her clothing.
In September 2017 the girl spoke to police and disclosed information about sexual activities but declined to provide a formal statement.
An AVO was put in place to protect the girl from the man, but shortly before Christmas 2017, he asked her to go to Orana Mall so he could give her a present.
The man, who cannot legally be named because the victim is a child, told the girl that nobody could know that he gave her the present and not to shake it.
He told the girl to go an external staircase at the mall. She collected the present wrapped in Christmas paper and saw the man, who made a heart shape with his hands as he left the area.
On Christmas Day the girl opened the present in private. It was a purple teddy bear, which had a hole in its buttocks area. Inside the bear, the girl discovered a red sex toy with rhinestones.
The man later told the girl he wanted her to put the sex toy inside herself, put underwear on and go to school. According to the statement of agreed facts he also requested she take video footage of herself using the sex toy. The girl took photos of herself using the toy and sent them to the man.
They both used social media to stay-in-touch multiple times a day and sent each other intimate photos. The girl took a number of screenshots to capture the social media conversations between herself and the man.
In October 2018 the girl took part in a formal interview with police.
Following that the man told police he had no friends and the girl was his "best friend".
After the man's guilty pleas were entered Magistrate Gary Wilson sent the case to the District Court.
The matter will be mentioned on November 8 when a sentencing date is expected to be set. The man remains out on bail.
