Dubbo Regional Council deputy mayor Stephen Lawrence says the council's opposition to the River Street bridge proposal is clear and Roads Minister Paul Toole's recent appearance at Budget Estimates hearing has only solidified that position.

"I thought the answers Paul Toole gave at Budget Estimates were in some respects typical politician answers," he said.
They were evasive."
Cr Lawrence said the NSW government is not listening to concerns many locals have about the River Street bridge project.
"The government is harming its credibility with its position on the bridge," he said.
"By avoiding answers, the government is confirming the impression that we are getting a b grade solution to the problem of Newell Highway flooding.
"Councils position on the bridge is clear.
"I don't expect Mr Toole's answers at Budget estimates will have much impact on Dubbo Regional Council's current position."
