"It's definitely looking like it's going to be another absolutely great cricket season coming up," Shanks said.
The organisation is looking to be progressing well in preparation for the coming weekend's innings.
"Everything's ready and we're all organised for kick-off next Saturday, October 12, we've got our first and second grade starting with their two day game, then we'll have our third grades starting up with their one day games."
While the competition won't be experiencing any major shake-ups, with all six teams that contested the competition in first and second grade last year returning this year, there are a few interesting wrinkles helping the format grow in the coming season.
"It's the usual six teams across first and second grade," Shanks said.

"But we've got two more teams in the third grade competition, Newton and Colts will field three teams in third grade, Souths and CYMS will have two and Rugby and Macquarie will have their one each."
Shanks puts the growing competition down to the strength of Dubbo's juniors field, as well as an uptick in player numbers, and thinks the competition is well-placed to handle whatever changes come naturally.
"That'll continue to evolve year to year depending on those player numbers and the strength of the juniors," Shanks said.
That won't be the only change to the playing rosters this year, with a number of top-shelf players like Ben Patterson and Tom Atlee leaving the competition's first grade to pursue opportunities in Sydney.
While the loss of such class players will no doubt sting their respective sides, Shanks is confident that the departures will provide more chances for new stars to make a name for themselves.
"Yead, I'd expect there'll be some new up and coming stars that will push through, there's a lot of good, young cricketers in Dubbo, now they'll get better opportunities to show their wares," Shanks said.
"I think people will step up and show their talent in the other player's absence."
Their first opportunity to prove their skills will come in the season's blockbuster first round clash between the defending champions Newton and the Colts, a match-up between two of last season's best teams that Shanks anticipates will set the standard for the level of play this year.
"It's a great matchup, I think it's really going to depend on who has been training harder at this time of the year and who's more committed early, because there's really not much between the two teams."
The season begins on Saturday, October 12.
