NewAccess, developed by Beyond Blue and delivered by Marathon Health, allows anyone over the age of 16 to access six free coaching sessions "from the location and by the medium of their choice".
The program, running in Western NSW for seven months, is reported to be on track to exceed the national recovery rate of 72 per cent.
Funded by the Western NSW Primary Health Network, NewAccess provides help over the phone or in person without the need to first see a GP.

A NewAccess client said if he had not been able to access the service over the phone, he would not have reached out for support.
"..to be listened to and to have my feelings acknowledged (by my coach) was the first time I had ever felt truly heard and understood," he said.
Clients needing more support can be transitioned into another program.
Nor-for-profit Marathon Health says NewAccess provides mental health support "when and where you need it".
