Prepare to swelter for the long weekend as the maximum temperature is expected to hit 35 degrees on Sunday, followed by 34 on Monday.
If you're heading west it's going to be even hotter. Nyngan is expected to reach 37 degrees on Sunday, while Walgett will get to 39.
The mercury will drop again after the weekend with a maximum of 25 degrees expected in Dubbo on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The cool weather could also bring with it some rain. The BoM has forecast a chance of rain for the three cooler days, with Thursday the most likely.
