Tasmania were 4-172 chasing 185 but collapsed to be all out for 184, with Tremain and fellow quick Jackson Coleman claimed three wickets each to steal victory from the jaws of defeat.

Tremain sparked the collapse by removing Beau Webster (20) with the second ball of the 38^th over before Coleman struck three times in the 39^th, dismissing James Faulkner (1), top-scorer Ben McDermott (78) and Gurinder Sanhdu (1) to leave the Tasmanians with three runs required from two wickets in hand.

Nathan Ellis took a run to square leg before Tremain, in his final over, trapped Jackson Bird LBW for a duck off the second delivery.

Number 11 Riley Meredith squeezed a single off the third delivery before Tremain struck Nathan Ellis on the pad, with the umpire firing the Tasmanian bowler as the pair ran for what would be a match-tying leg bye.

Tremain finished with figures of 4-36 from his 9.4 overs and Coleman 4-46 off nine, while youngster Will Sutherland nabbed 2-43 off nine, backing up his maiden first class 50 in the Vics' innings.

Sutherland top-scored for Victoria with 53, with Glenn Maxwell and Matt Short the only other two batters to pass 20 in their final total of 185.
