Sue Pringle said one woman called her "an idiot" on Monday but most people were respectful of her right to protest.
"I didn't know if I was going to be arrested or not for causing fear because I'm wearing a gas mask but I took the chance anyway," she told the Daily Liberal.
"I've done it before, I did it about eight months ago with the same sign and gas mask."
Sue said the state of the planet prompted her to protest.
"It's the hottest year on record, the Amazon forests are burning, there's devastation all over the world," she said.
"We better not exploit and vandalise this planet because there's no planet B to go to."
People are reluctant to make sacrifices to help the environment "because it's going to cost them", Sue believes.
"We're exploiting and vandalising the earth for the sake of a quick buck," she said.
"I don't waste water and I don't litter or anything like that. I use the reusable hessian bags from the supermarket."
Sue said a decision about whether or not to stage another protest would depend on if she could get more people to join her.
In its most recent report, the World Meterological Organization warned average global temperatures between 2015 and 2019 were on track to be the hottest on record.
The report, released on Monday, found global carbon emissions and sea levels were rising despite governments having pledged to reduce them.
