And when it does, expect to see some of the Western Rams' best putting their hands up to be part of the new sides involved.
Western is one of three centres across Australia - the others are located in Sydney and Brisbane - currently running a women's academy, designed to help develop players skills to a level high enough to help boost the game's player pool.
Alongside Jillaroos staff, Western coach Jess Skinner helps head part of the academy's coaching staff and says players in the bush are more than capable of making the next step.
"And we're giving them the best opportunity to do that," Skinner said.
"It's up to the girls. If they can improve their skills, fitness and quality of play then anything can happen.
"We're giving them all the tools, they're doing all the work and chasing that dream."
The third Western Women's Rugby League premiership kicks off next month - round one is scheduled for October 12.
Some of the region's best will take part in the 2019 edition of the tournament, with six clubs fielding four grades each this campaign - a record for the women's game in Western Division.
Skinner said with under 13s, under 15s and under 18s competitions complimenting the senior title race there was a clear pathway now for young female rugby league players.

She added having the a few NSWRL players like Rhianna Sutherland, Kandy Kennedy and Kaitlyn Phillips back for this year's competition would help further develop the budding group filtering up through the grades.
"Our players are so young but so keen too ... it's great to have them there as mentors coming through," Skinner said, expecting all members of the Rams academy to take on a mentor-like role at club level.
"The main thing is we get a pool of girls that have quality basic skills, education around strength and conditioning and that defensive bit."
Defending premiers Goannas will again contest the WWRL season, while Woodbridge Cup, Mudgee, Vipers, Panorama and Castlereagh League will all have sides in each grade.
