The Vics came from fourth to win last summer's 50-over title, that triumph part of Tremain's remarkable three-peat, which included the Bushrangers' Sheffield Shield win and his Melbourne Renegades' Big Bash crown too.
Peter Handscomb will skipper the side after a stint in the UK with Durham, while Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell will also front after finishing their County commitments following Australia's World Cup campaign, prior to the Ashes.
The success Victoria has had over the last seven or eight years has been extraordinary. It's just a great place to come back and play.

Up-and-coming youngsters Sam Harper, Mackenzie Harvey, Will Pucovski and Will Sutherland have also been selected to travel in a group stacked with experience.
The group we've chosen to travel for these first two games is a really good mix of experience and exciting young talent. They're all looking forward to getting to Perth and officially getting our 2019-20 season underway," Victorian chairman of selectors Andrew Lynch said.
"We're obviously missing Marcus Harris, Peter Siddle and James Pattinson who are still on the Ashes tour with the Australian side, but this a very strong group of players who can begin our title defence on the right foot.
"It's exciting to have Aaron Finch available, he missed this tournament last year ... so he brings enormous experience to our line-up and can obviously be a help to Peter Handscomb who will captain the side."
Finch, Australia's World Cup captain, was on national duties during the tournament last year and said he's excited to return to the Bushrangers' side alongside the likes of Yeoval product Tremain, and the Vics' "dynamic" youngsters.
"When you're playing for Australia you don't give that up, but the success Victoria has had over the last seven or eight years has been extraordinary. It's just a great place to come back and play, and be around the boys again," Finch told Cricket Victoria.
"I think we're blessed with some really talented young players. We've got young guys ... coming through that are so exciting, so dynamic. To see how much they've improved over the off-season is special."
Tremain will look to continue his form from last season's title win, in six games he snared nine wickets at a tick over 30, including taking 2-33 from nine overs in the Vics' 110-run grand final victory.
The Bushrangers open their title defence against Western Australia at the WACA on Saturday before facing Tasmania in a decider rematch on Monday, they'll then return to Victoria for back-to-back home games after that.
Scheduling of the Marsh Cup has been changed from previous seasons, with the competition no longer running in a single block of games prior to the Sheffield Shield.
The Shield season kicks off in October after half the Marsh Cup games, with the remaining 11 one-dayers to be played to two more separate blocks later than month and in November.
