There are concerns Burrendong Dam is running out of water, there are concerns Macquarie River will run dry and there are concerns there's just not enough rain.
Despite the information coming out, one thing is clear: Dubbo residents are not conserving water.
The city is on level two water restrictions.
Essentially it means residents are only allowed to water their lawns on every second day between 7 and 10am and then 4 and 7pm. Houses with an even number water on even days of the week, while odd numbers are on odd days of the week.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Dubbo Regional Council chief executive officer Michael McMahon says level two restrictions means using 301 litres per person, per day.
But we're not meeting it.
The average residential water usage for the last week was 403.57 litres per person in Dubbo, 261.57 litres per person in Geurie, and 409 litres per person in Wellington.
How is it that only Geurie is meeting those restrictions?
There's a long list on council's website of ways people can cut back on their water usage. But there are basic things everyone should already be doing.
Think about how much water your lawn really needs.
Council is looking at introducing level three restrictions in the coming weeks.
Level three water restrictions would impact the lawns and gardens of the city's non-residential/commercial sector and residents.
Watering systems, non-fixed sprinklers and hand-held hoses would not be permitted at any time for watering of gardens.
Businesses, such as hotels, hospitals and schools would also have to submit Water Saving Action Plans to council for approval.
Is there any point if we can't even meet our level two target?
Dubbo is in a drought and everyone is affected.
Everyone should be doing their best to conserve water. Everyone.
