A man believed to be aged in his 40s has died in a single-vehicle crash about 110 kilometres south-east of Bourke on Tuesday.

About 6.20am, emergency services were called to the Mitchell Highway at Coolabah after a ute reportedly crashed and rolled.
Police said the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene and he has not been formally identified.

A crime scene was established and police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
