The legend is walking more than 4000 kilometres from Tamworth to Adelaide and back to raise funds and awareness for Beyond Blue.
"I realise this journey is something I wanted to do to raise awareness for Beyond Blue and all that they do and it's often behind the scene so to speak," Mr Wright said.
Beyond Blue provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health.
"Many can't talk about what they go through and unfortunately some don't make it through. I have realised the Australian way of life isn't totally lost, it' still thriving in our rural communities were doing something for someone whether they know you or not is just something we do, and this Australian spirit has made my journey so far a fantastic experience," Mr Wright said.
"The generosity of rural people is fantastic and has totally instilled a memory forever, not only in my mind but also in my heart."
By the time he had reached Dunedoo on the fifth day, Mr Wright had walked more than 220km.
He travelled from Coolah and walked straight through the doors of Hotel Dunedoo.
"I was hoping to watch the footy there, and I got talking to the owners and they said you're staying here tonight on us. It was a great night."
After Dunedoo he headed the "long haul" to Dubbo, a two-day walk which would see Mr Wright camping out along the way.
"I have a huge walk to Dubbo, 97 km in fact, so I won't be reaching Dubbo in one day," he said.
"There doesn't appear to be much in the way of places for accommodation so if anyone knows anyone near Elong Elong, that would like to host me for the evening it would be greatly appreciated."
The hosts and friendly faces have made the journey easier for Mr Wright.
"It has been made far easier and more enjoyable by the people I have met and those that have hosted me. The support that has been shown to me has been amazing and I hope the support extends to Beyond Blue as well," he said.
