The Black Dog Institute undertakes significant research and preventative measures for the treatment of mental health disorders like depression and anxiety.
Duffy Elliott Lawyers choose a charity every year and raise funds through a morning tea with a $5 donation.
Lawyer Jennifer Spear said the decision to support the Black Dog Institute stemmed from the desperate need they saw among the community to raise awareness of the mental health services that people could engage with as the drought continues.
"Particularly with the drought, it's important people know there's help out there. One in five people suffer from mental illness - that's 20 per cent of our population already, and with these kinds of economic pressures building up who knows what impact it will have on mental health if the drought doesn't break," she said.
"Know you're not alone. Reach out to family and friends if you're struggling, and never underestimate the power of a good morning tea."
