Dubbo residents received $805,062 from the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS) in 2018/2019, putting the city among the top 10 recipients.

State Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders reports that 768 patients used the money to get to specialists.
He said 5709 people in the Western NSW Local Health District shared in $4.7 million.
ITAAS subsidises transport and accommodation for people travelling at least 100 kilometres (km) or a cumulative distance of at least 200km in a week to see medical specialists.
Mr Saunders said the state government had more than doubled funding for the scheme to almost $26 million in the past eight years.
"Having a serious medical condition that requires specialist treatment is stressful enough, without the additional out-of-pocket costs," he said.
"By reducing travel costs, the NSW government's scheme helps remove a key hurdle to seeking specialist medical treatment when it's needed."
