The AEDs will be installed in the pubs at each village, while Geurie's will be at the Pitt Stop Service Station. At each location staff will be trained in the AEDs.

Dubbo Red Cross first aid trainer, and driver of the campaign, George Chapman said it was a momentous occasion.

"Dubbo Regional Council contributed over $10,000 to purchase the AEDs for the villages, West Dubbo Rotary Club put in an additional $1500 and Geurie, Stuart Town and Mumbil added $5000 each. It doesn't get more community connected than that," he said.

Dubbo Regional mayor Ben Shields said the pubs were chosen as they were at the heart of the small villages. They were open the longest hours and saw the most people, he said.

Neil Sharkey from the Rotary Club of West Dubbo said the club always supported local causes. You couldn't put a price on someone's life, he said.

Only two more AEDs are needed in Wellington to make the entire LGA heart safe.
