Orange man Aiden James Reginald Davis, 19, broke into a small business and a home sometime overnight between June 4 and June 5.
According to court documents he broke into the Cobar Quilt Shop and stole a small amount of $5 and $20 notes from a Sesame Street themed tin.
Davis later picked up a crowbar off the back of a ute on Becker Street and used it to smash a car window. He ransacked the car and took nothing before he entered a garage on the same street and ransacked a HSV Club Sport car.
Police said because Davis was under the influence of a large amount of illicit substances when he committed the crimes, he could barely remember what happened.
Davis appeared in Dubbo Local Court last week via audiovisual link from jail. He pleaded guilty to damaging property and two counts of breaking and entering.
Magistrate Gary Wilson convicted Davis of all offences and sentenced him to 18 months jail with a nine-month non-parole period. He will be eligible for release on March 15, 2020.
