About 2pm Tuesday afternoon emergency services including police, FRNSW, VRA, NSW Ambulance were called to the intersection of Minore and Algalah Street where a blue Holden sedan has collided with a truck towing two caravans.

According to police it is believed the male driver, and only occupant of the sedan, has failed to give way.

The 80-year-old was trapped inside the vehicle before being released by emergency services.

He was taken to Narromine Hospital for observation and at this stage it is believed he has suffered no serious injuries.

The intersection was closed until tow trucks could remove the vehicles.

Narromine Police Sergeant Michael Smith is warning motorists to take care, especially around intersections.

"We urge motorists on our roads to pay attention to particular signage around intersections and make sure they give way when required to," he said.

"The potential for someone to be killed or seriously injured is quite high, because quite often the vehicle that has right of way has very little time to react or stop."

Investigations are underway and police will be taking action against the driver of the sedan.
