LATE winter rainfall is expected in some parts of the region this week, with one town predicted to receive as much as 47 millimetres by Friday.

Rainfall has been well below average so far this winter, with Bureau of Meteorology predictions confirming the warm, dry weather will continue into spring.
The wettest place to be this week will be Lithgow, with 47mm of rain predicted to fall between now and Saturday.

For other locations rainfall is predicted until Friday, with up to 12mm expected in Bathurst, Mudgee and Oberon.
Other locations will be drier with 8mm predicted for: Orange, Parkes, Dubbo, Wellington, Young, Cootamundra and Goulburn.

Forbes will be the driest location this week with just 5mm of rain expected to fall by Friday.
A final winter snowfall is predicted for areas around Jenolan Caves on Thursday, with light falls expected at 7am and slightly heavier falls at 7pm that same night.
