SO far this winter Dubbo has had more than double the number of house fires compared to any other location in the region, with the data prompting a warning from firefighters.
Firefighters say householders should be more vigilant now than ever before. Winter, summer, spring or autumn there are many ways a house fire can start and typically only one outcome, the devastating loss or damage to the place you live.

On a brighter note, the first group of aviation specialists to undertake Air Attack Supervisor and Air Base Manager training at the Rural Fire Service (RFS) Training Academy in Dubbo has given the facility a big tick of approval.
The facility provides NSW RFS volunteers and staff access to a dedicated training facility to improve further the skills and knowledge they need when responding to and managing emergencies across the state.
The Academy is something Dubbo can be rightly proud of.
