Dubbo Regional Council will host the annual Dubbo Sustainable City Expo and Science Festival on Saturday from 10am until 2pm.
Council's organisational sustainability coordinator Catriona Jennings said there would be 30 exhibitor displays, workshops and activities for the kids.
"There will be a range of sustainable living and science exhibits, the King and Queen of Green 'Say No to Plastics' show and a free screening of the film 2040," Ms Jennings said.
"In fact the free screening of the film 2040 is already booked out thanks to the support of Dubbo Filmmakers who will be running the event on the day."

A number of workshops will also be held, ranging from edible backyard gardening to green cleaning. Residents must register for the workshop on the day.
The 'Say No to Plastics' show will be held at 11.30am.
"Children of all ages will enjoy this fun and interactive show which will explore ways to say no to single-use plastics and how our behaviour effects our environment," Ms Jennings said.
The free festival will be held at the Western Plains Cultural Centre. A copy of the program is available on council's website.
