About 12 kilometres of irrigation piping will be laid at Dubbo Golf Club to make its 27-hole course ready and able for the 2020 Women's NSW Open in March.

Club general manager Rod Archer has revealed that its board has accepted a tender to install a dual-line irrigation system covering both fairways and greens.
"We have had our first on-site meeting with all the materials to be delivered in the next three weeks," he said.
Mr Archer said the club had received $1.05 million from the state government to install the new and more effective irrigation system.

He said the work would not disrupt golfers.
"That's the beauty of 27 holes," he said.
"We can close sectors of the course and still be able to play 18-hole competitions."
A donation of 30 megalitres of high-security water from Alkane Resources will be used to commission the new irrigation system and help keep the course green.
The club's water allocation from Burrendong Dam has been cut from about 330 to 70 megalitres of water.
The Women's NSW Open is being held in regional NSW communities for at least five years, starting with Coffs Harbour in 2018.
Across five years, the tournament is expected to attract 16,000 domestic and international visitors into regional NSW and inject $8 million into its economy.
